Csala (Peters) Beers; Recovery Fund

There’s that saying that lighting doesn’t strike twice but I am here to tell you that it must. I barely have words because I am still in a state of shock and disbelief. When you are done reading what I am about to write I am sure you will be able to empathize with my surreal reality. As I said in my Facebook post it's not often that I post or divulge any of my personal business but in this case irrespective if you know me, Csala, Dan or any of our families we need your support.

I am asking for any and all of you for your prayers and thoughts for my sister Csala. She was in a very bad accident yesterday that totaled Dan’s blazer and ejected her from the car. She went in for surgery at 8am today (2/2) and is still in surgery as of now. What we know… She has a T12 spinal cord injury and at this point she cannot feel anything from the waist down. Now I know that accidents happen all of the time but here is where the irony comes in, her and her husband Dan have been married for a little over a year now and if you know them you know that Dan was in a motorcycle accident 12 years ago that left him with a T6 spinal cord injury and he has been in a wheelchair since. If that isn’t ironic enough, their accidents were on the same road 3/10th of a mile apart and less than a mile from their house.

This will be a long road for her and they don’t really have a fall back plan. She just started a new job and hadn’t turned in the paperwork yet for short or long term disability. We just know, unfortunately from experience, that there will be medical and other expenses in addition to her student loans that will be lingering overhead and we need her to focus on recovering. They just bought their house not that long ago and it is nowhere set up for both of them in this state so we will have to plan on modifying their house. I'm asking for a miracle and I believe they still happen so I would just love for as many people to rally around the idea that they also still exist.

Whether it’s just your thoughts or you have the ability to even give them a little ANY support is welcomed and appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story.
