LA Youth Ballet Theatre Nutcracker

We have exciting news to share! On the heels of our wildly-successful inaugural performance of The Nutcracker last year, we are delighted to announce the encore performance of the Los Angeles Youth Ballet Theatre’s Nutcracker again this year!

As you may know, we are coming off a historic effort for our dance companies. Last year we raised a record number of funds to stage our first full-length Nutcracker Ballet. We built it from scratch with new sets, costumes, and choreography. It was an ambitious effort - and trust us when we say - there were days we weren’t sure it would happen…but we did it!

This December 21st-23rd, the curtain will rise again at the Alex Theatre and your contribution will help make our Nutcracker brighter, more magical, and more memorable than ever.

Here’s how:
-World-renowned Guest Artists! Already, we’ve secured Kirov Academy-trained and former principal dancer with the Washington Ballet, Brooklyn Mack, to perform as our Sugar Plum Fairy’s Cavalier. Our audiences and young dancers will be wowed by Brooklyn’s powerful performance and inspired by his personal experience as one of the most sought-after principal dancers across the globe.

-More bells & whistles! We are already working to enhance our costumes and sets with more embellishments, more illusion, and more FUN! After renting one last year, this year we are investing in our own, brand new “Mother Ginger” costume that will delight and dazzle audiences of all ages.

-An additional performance! Our performance weekend – just before the Christmas holiday – has proved to be a popular date for ticket sales. We are thrilled to add an additional performance this year, giving our audiences the choice of two evening and two matinee shows, and our dancers more chances to perform.
The costs of mounting a production in Los Angeles are always high. And although we’ve got a much smaller mountain to climb this year, we still have a daunting fundraising goal of $15,000 to stage and improve our production. Will you help?

Every donation counts. And every donation is tax deductible.

If you are able to make a significant donation of $1,000 or more, you will receive special recognition as one of our VIP contributors.

We will need your help – and the support of our entire dance community - to cover the costs of staging and enhancing our much-praised production, and bringing in the amazing professional Guest Artists who will inspire the dancers performing in the production, as well as the children in the audience.

Asking isn’t easy. But we promise this production, and all our endeavors throughout the season, will be efforts you will be proud of and that are worthy of your support.

We are so grateful to everyone who pitches in with contributions, resources, and time. Because of friends like you, the children who dance with our LAYBT have opportunities most young dancers can only dream about. We would be so grateful if you would help us make their dance dreams come true.
