A sus 5 años de vida hemos desafiado retos físicos, psicológicos y sobre todo económicos, debido que desde los 4 meses de edad fue diagnosticada con Fibrosis Quistica con mutacion F508. ( enfermedad degenerativa y de por vida, que ataca principalmente pulmones y páncreas). La cual no la ha permitido vivir al igual que los demás, debido a que debe usar tratamiento 24/7, a estado hospitalizada en varias ocasiones. Hemos realizado viajes cada 3 meses desde su diagnóstico, a sus consultas a la ciudad de los Cabos B.C.S la cual se encuentra a 10 horas de nuestro hogar.

<div>Hello, my name is Kassandra Villanueva, and I'm the mother of a beautiful 5-year-old girl named Ángela Georgina Meza Villanueva, who has sadly been fighting for her life since birth. In her five years of life, we have faced physical, psychological, and, above all, financial challenges, since at four months old she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis with the F508 mutation (a lifelong, degenerative disease that primarily affects the lungs and pancreas). This has prevented her from living like others, as she requires treatment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and has been hospitalized several times. Since her diagnosis, we have traveled every three months for her appointments in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, a city 10 hours from home. At her last appointment, she presented with severe malnutrition because the enzyme her pancreas produces is not functioning properly. Her specialist doctors explained that if she doesn't gain weight, she will need a gastrostomy tube, a procedure that allows for the direct administration of calorie supplements, nutrients, and medications, usually at night. This helps with weight gain, improves BMI, and improves lung function. Her specialists recommended a treatment called Trikafta, but unfortunately, our insurance doesn't cover it. The pulmonologist commented that if Angela receives this treatment, it will improve her quality of life, slow down and possibly even stop the deterioration of her pancreas, and significantly increase her life expectancy. All funds raised will go toward purchasing this medication. Geo (nicknamed by family and friends) is a very brave and intelligent girl. She loves meeting other children and playing with them. She adores turtles and capybaras. Despite having suffered so much in her short life, she is very kind and always tries her best. Any contribution, no matter the amount, would be a great help to Geo.
