La Tuna Fire Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Hello, we are now starting the recovery process and starting a fund to help us get back on our feet. Please see photos and captions below.

All that is left of the house is ash...everything in the home and most of the property has burned completely. They were able to hold off the flames to my camper, so I fortunately have some belongings, but my mom has absolutely nothing left. We lost 1 of of beloved horses as well.

It's going to be a long road to recovery, but the American Red Cross is doing an amazing job helping us navigate the beginning of our recovery efforts.

This page is here to help us get back on our feet. Everything and anything is beyond appreciated.

Thank you so much for your love and support...it means the world to us.

Love,
Samantha and Linda Sherdel

We live in a canyon at the landscape of the canyon now looks like this throughout.
This is what remains of Sam's photo studio she had built. She was unable to grab 40% of her equiptment and it was burned in this building. She lost all her photography softboxes, photography stands, an iMac, and a strobe light, all that she uses for her job.
This is Pretty (left) and a sleepy Pistol (right) together harnessed and ready to get their toes trimmed earlier this year.
Pistol, during the blaze, was sucessfully rescued. He is now housed at the West Valley Shelter while we recover the property.
This is Pretty, she was rescued along with Pistol but was unfortunetly injured so badly during transportation that Sam faced the decision to euthanize her a few hours after we saw our burned home for the first time. We were able to say goodbye and hug her for the last time.
Pretty was a very special horse as she would smile for carrots or when she was having fun, as shown in the video above.
The remains of our camper we used to move from Florida in.

The remains of the home and all contents in the home

Right before these firefighters told us to "Get out now!" and 15 minutes before our home and this mountain was engulfed in flames on September 2nd.
A photograph of Samantha (Left) and Linda (Right) from 2016, when Samantha took Linda to a concert.
Linda finding the burnt and broken remains of a family heirloom. The row of concrete blocks are where the exterior walls of our home used to stand.
Samantha found the remains of an old antique Kodak camera that was part of her personal collection.
