La Tomate Restaurant Relief Fund

The Koropoulos' first opened La Tomate in 1987 and it has been family owned ever since. Their determination, work ethic, and love for quality food has endured for three decades. Many employees on our team have been with us over 20 years and have served customers from near and far throughout the Dupont Circle community, many of whom are loyal patrons and have become a part of a large extended family. We never thought we would have to close the restaurant and encourage our team to stay home without pay. Our small, family owned business has relied on opening our doors to all our patrons and serving our community every day. 

We will not be able to endure the financial burden of this unprecedented COVID 19 crisis without your help. In an effort to make sure our entire La Tomate team is taken care of in this uncertain time, we are asking YOU, our most loyal customers, friends, family, and fellow Washingtonians to donate funds to our campaign to ensure we are able to rise and rebuild our restaurant and community together amidst this national emergency.

Since 1987, we have been honored to be a part of so many memories, weddings, graduations, baptisms, marriage proposals and first dates (most notably perhaps was Chelsea Clinton's as the Old Town Trolley tour often explains to onboard tourists). With your generous donations we will be able to re-hire and re-open to continue our traditions like proudly decorating and displaying our Christmas tree on our patio that has become an icon for many around the holiday season and for us, an emblem for the sense of community we feel in our hearts.
