I’m launching this GoFundMe to help fund La Speranza’s third season and beyond in these uncertain times.
ABOUT US
La Speranza is a group of string and wind players that bring chamber music performances on period instruments of repertoire spanning from the Baroque to the Romantic eras to Houston communities. Named after the Italian word for “hope”, La Speranza seeks to promote physical and emotional healing through their historically informed performances. Find out more HERE.
UPCOMING SEASON
-We just announced our 2019-2020 concert series called "Darkness and Redemption". Check it out!
-Spoiler alert- one of our concerts this season is a main-stage performance at the 2019 Houston Early Music Festival!
-We also have an exciting fundraising event at Archway Gallery planned on October 20.
-Our outreach includes our usual monthly performances in the lobby at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center and presentations at the Fonteno and Glazier Senior Education Centers.
BUDGET
Our expenses for the entire 2019-2020 season will total $25,110, which includes musician fees for our performances and outreach programs, marketing costs, travel expenses, printing and music costs, keyboard moving costs, and legal fees — and we’ve got one exciting season ahead for you!
We will receive $2,500 in a grant for performing/outreach expenses that will be dispersed throughout the season that we will use for our outreach to the senior education centers. We've also raised $205 from a recital I gave in June that helped us cover our website expenses for the year.
The $5,000 we raise here will help us cover:
- 501c3 filing cost ($650)
- membership with TALA (Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts) ($250)
- complete cost of season opening concert on September 28 ($3,200)
- 3 months of outreach in the hospital ($900)
Any extra funds we raise on GoFundMe will go straight towards our Houston Early Music Festival concert on November 14 ($3,100).
