La Canada High School Marching Band

Dear La Cañada Flintridge Community:

The LCHS Marching Band is raising funds to support the music program at LCHS to fill the financial gap left by fundraisers that would normally take place over the summer. In previous years, the LCHS Marching Spartans had primarily raised funds through weekly bake sales at Memorial Park during the annual Music in the Park series.

The LCHS Marching Spartans are a staple of the La Cañada community. They are the loudest supporters of every LCHS football game, cheering on the team and energizing the stands. They participate in competitions all over Southern California, bringing in awards and honors for LCHS. The Spartans also perform at Grand Openings for LCF businesses and other opening ceremonies, such as the Grand Reopening of Ralphs in 2018 and the opening ceremony of the new City Hall just last year. Most prominently, the Marching Band participates in the Memorial Parade and Montrose Christmas Parade every year, adding to the festivities and celebrations. The LCHS Marching Band provides music and joy for its community and is essential in bringing together the members of our neighborhood.

But most importantly, the Marching Band provides an exceptional music education and once-in-a-lifetime experience for its students. All students mature greatly in their musical careers under the guidance of director Jason Stone and by learning to create art alongside nearly 100 peers. Band members bond through experiences of early morning and late night rehearsals, and showing off their hard work in competitions and shows. Being in the LCHS Marching Band makes each member's high school years golden and stays with them for a lifetime.

Contributions go directly to the funding of show t-shirts, jackets, and the LCHS Music Parents Association to fulfill the financial needs of students in the program. The Covid-19 pandemic has created losses that have greatly impacted our community and others around the globe. But the LCHS Marching Spartans only find more resolve in the crisis, and look forward to bringing joy and companionship through the beauty of music.

(If you are an LCF business and would like to sponsor our band by funding our rehearsal t-shirts- and have your logo printed on its back!- please reach out to [email redacted])
