Benefit for Steve Piantek

This benefit is in honor of a wonderful friend of the community Steven Piantek. Like most people Steven enjoys going to sporting events, traveling, spending time with family and friends. However in April 2014 Steven was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, and his life has changed drastically ever since. Steve was born in West Springfield Massachusetts and currently owns a beautiful home in Chicopee MA. Steve has been a hard worker his entire life employed at AB container as a truck driver. However due to his recent illness Steve has had to move down to part time hours working the fork lift. This is starting to become overwhelming with his health drastically declining every day. Steve has raised two children Justin and Jamie who currently may have to soon deal with the loss of a parent at a young age. Currently Steve medical prognosis does not look well for him. He has an inoperable tumor which is currently being treated at Dana Farber in Boston. After the treatment here Steve will be looking to get into the cancer treatment center in New Jersey, MD Anderson. On average Steve spends $500 out of pocket monthly for medication, and paid over $5,000 for insurance premiums and deductible with $30,000 remaining in medical bills after the insurance coverage. This does not include everyday living expenses as well as important payments like his mortgage and car. Steve at the age of 52 never expected his life to change so quickly.
