Sara's baby, Duke, needs surgery
Donation protected
Our Weimaraner was hit by a car just before Christmas. It was only 21 minutes from being hit to 24 hour vet, so we were able to save his leg. Duke's leg needed plates, pins and wires after a 8 hour surgery. Needless to say we did what we needed to do, but now, after *4* rounds of high dose antibiotics (3 different ones at the same time) his leg is still swollen and hot. The vet, Emergency Vet Clinic in Brentwood, NH, says we did everything right and that there is no outer infection and that the surgery cut looked wonderful. (3 to 4 times a day we iced, we used moist heat, we massaged for circulation, and more) Anyway, now the vet thinks they need to go in and take out all the hardware because he may be allergic to it. The original surgery and care was already $6,300 and now we will have to give him back to the rescue if there is more surgery of $5,000. We just can't afford it and it is killing us, but there is no way I am going to have him suffer. Please note that we will be giving any overage of funds to the closest Weimie Rescue!
