Tracina's Medical Fund

On November 25, 2014, two days before Thanksgiving, Tracina Cavins was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma and tested HER2+. Tracina is 42 years old and is single parent of five children. Her mother was diagnosed with the same type of breast cancer at the age of 39. She passed away in August 2002 after the cancer metastasized into her bones.

Tracina is going into her third round of chemotherapy, which is always followed by the Neulasta shot. The shot puts her down for several days with severe pain. She goes back to work earlier than she should in order to continue to support her family. She is looking at nine more rounds of chemotherapy, bi-lateral mastectomy, removal of ovaries, radiation, and reconstructive surgery over the next year and a half.
