Nicolas Brasher, known as Nick to most of us, currently lives in Rio Rancho, New Mexico with his two sons, Dominic and Eric. Nick is an Air Force Veteran.
In 2010, Nick became ill and went to the hospital at the urging of his wife. He was diagnosed with an extremely aggresive form of brain cancer known as Glioblastima Multiforme (also known as Stage IV Astrocytoma) and immediately underwent surgery. Nick was given only months to live by the doctors but decided that wasn't good enough for him. Nick fought hard, enduring radiation and chemo treatments, and with the help of his wife, family, and medical doctors, he beat the cancer and is still with us today. Two years ago, Nick and his wife divorced. Nick continues today to take care of this two children, alone.
Unfortunately, Nick has taken a turn for the worst in the past couple of months. We have recently learned that the brain cancer has returned. Nick is losing cognitive thinking and is having a hard time completing basic tasks. His thought process is weakening and he requires constant care. Nick has a small family, some of which are out of town, and traveling to care for Nick is difficult and expensive at best.
As Nick starts his journey to hopeful healing, we ask for any assistance that may aid the family while they take on the loving task of taking care of Nick and his children while he is unable to do this himself.
