Please join us in helping Maizee walk again. As many of you know, two years ago Maizee tore a ligament in her knee causing her knee cap to float and her tibia and fibula to slip out from under her femur. Shortly after her injury she received surgery that replaced the ligament in order to stabilize her knee, allowing her to walk again.
A year after her surgery, Maizee began to show the same signs of ligament injury in her other knee. Now with one weakened knee from surgery, and another torn ligament in her other knee, Maizee is facing a life of lameness. She is a young, energetic dog that has the heart and desire to run and play but is denied that freedom because of her injuries.
Maizee now needs a specialized surgery on her knees to give her the ability to walk again. The operation will cut a portion of her tibia and rotate it in such a way that will create a plateau for the femur to rest on, preventing it from slipping. The surgery is highly complex and requires specific training but it yields positive, long-term results.
Many of you have had a chance to spend time with Maizee so you know the sweetness and warmth that is in her heart. She is a dog that is deserving of love and a healthy, active life. Please join us in helping finance Maizee's surgery, we are immensely grateful for donations of any amount.
