Ionia Pradia's Cancer Fund

I am writing on behalf of my husband' sister, Ionia Pradia.  Ionia is not anyone famous, she's just family, an amazing person and we love her dearly.   Ionia was diagnosed with liver cancer, Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC).  HCC originates in the liver and is one of the most common malignant tumors worldwide and is inoperable.   

She does not have health insurance and is not able to work.   Please help us raise funds to offset or assist with medical expenses and medications.  She will have to undergo a series of radiation treatment (Radiation Beads), which will be injected into her liver.  This is a 3 step process. 

She lives in Lynchburg, VA and will have to travel to Charlottesville, VA to the University of Virginia Hospital, which is about a 2 hour drive each way for her treatment.  These treatments will require an overnight stay in the hospital.  The first step of the process will begin on February 11 and if all goes well, she will undergo the next two steps.  She will also have to visit the hospital every 3 months for tests and CT scans to see if the tumors are shrinking or increasing.  If this process is not successful, the doctor will recommend another procedure.

We don’t know what the medical expenses will be, including medications.  She is also on a special diet and a regimen of vitamins to help maintain her liver health to help fight this cancer.

Ionia has one son in college and plan to graduate in May 2015.  Ionia said she hopes and pray she will be able to see her son graduate.  She is in good spirit and is very optimistic that she will beat this and live.
