Giving so others can LIVE! In Memory of Anne
Hello Family and Friends!
Thanks for taking a minute to read about this page and its purpose. This page is dedicated to my mom, Anne Lechner. My mom's passing away from cancer was certainly an experience that changed the lives of the people who had the honor and pleasure of knowing her. Mom's focus in life was always providing for her family and serving the local community. She was involved with numerous organizations committed to community service, education and healthcare. Her passion was to serve and give to others. This fund has been established to carry on her passion and keep her spirit alive in the community.
Mom always said that she felt no one with cancer should go without medical
treatment, access to life saving medications, caring doctors and a quality life. I remember a conversation
we had once when she told me that one of her medications cost more than $1200
per month. She said, "It costs me a third of that with insurance, imagine if
I didn't have insurance, I wouldn't be able to afford it. How can people with cancer and no insurance live? It is absurd that there are people with cancer going without treatment and medication everyday. These things could very
well save their life or at the very least, improve their quality of life." This conversation
has stuck with me since that day. May marks the anniversary of Mom's passing and I can't think of a more perfect time to raise funds for cancer patients in need.
Wouldn't it be amazing if we raised enough money to pay for every cancer
patient in the local community to have treatment and the medications
needed! Helping one person is amazing! One
life extended, one life healed, one family granted more time with their mom, dad, sister or brother, one
community coming together to serve!
The amount of money raised will determine the number of people we can help. Initially we are focusing on one local family. This page is a way for us to reach out to as many people as possible, and is for anybody who wants to come together to help deflect some of the financial burden a family endures when battling cancer. It is also a place to help us all celebrate the meaningful life of my mom, Anne Lechner.
She would be proud.
