Maggie's Hope

Meet Maggie.

Maggie came into our lives 3 years ago when we wanted a new furry member for our family.  As I surveyed the litter of goldendoodles that clamored around me, jumping at the chance to be held, Maggie just sat patiently at my feet and watched my every move.  She won my heart immediately.

She was the sweetest puppy.  So smart and well-behaved.   We were thrilled!

But we soon discovered she had a very real problem.  Maggie was born with a severe form of hip dysplasia.  The ball of the hip was not rounded and the socket of the hip was not cupped.  Even worse, this was in both hips.  The doctors were amazed she was able to walk, let alone run and jump.  We were advised that she would eventually have to be put down unless she had her hips replaced.  We prayed her hips would develop as she grew, but this was not the case.

Our big, lovable, 79 lb. lap dog just turned 3 years old and her hips have finally given out.  She is on pain medication daily and, although she currently gets around, it is evident she is still in a great deal of pain.  What's more, she is failing quickly.  After another evaluation from the vet, we were told there is really nothing that will help except for surgery.

Like so many others out there, we do not have the $10,000-$12,000 for a double hip replacement.  We considered replacing one hip, but she would still have a great deal of pain due to the other hip.  I cannot bear the thought of putting her down at such a young age, but I also cannot let her live in constant pain.

                                   YOU are her hope!

No one should ever need to end the life of a beloved pet because they can not afford a life-saving surgery.

Our desire is to pay it forward.  All donated funds that exceed the cost of Maggie's surgery will be set aside in a fund to help others who find themselves in this same situation.  My dream is to make Maggie's Hope an on-going, non-profit organization.  An organization that will prevent the life of a pet from being cut short due to cost-prohibitive care.

Please help us make Maggie's Hope...and the hope of so many others like her...become a reality.
