In Memory of Barb Stephens

On January 27, a wonderful friend, mother, and grandmother was unexpectedly called home. While we are saddened for our loss, we find peace in the fact that she is now in the loving arms of her cherished husband, Bob Stephens.
In addition to Barb's love of her career in nursing, her care of children led her to become a Guardian ad Litem with Lee County. She worked diligently as an advocate in the best interest of children. This love of kids is why she is so passionate about De LaSalle Academy.
Several years ago, her grandson, Robert, became a student of the Academy in its innaugural year. Barb worked tirelessly to support De LaSalle by giving her time, money, and heartfelt encouragement. She believed in children, and she believed in this school!
De LaSalle Academy exists to educate children with special needs, providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment, where each student's diverse ability is honored and valued. The staff believes that no child should be without dreams of success, and they work diligently to bring those dreams within reach.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to aid in the development of the De LaSalle library. Barb was a voracious reader who believed that every child should experience the joy of reading and have access to books of all reading levels and genres. Thank you for supporting a cause in which Barb deeply believed.
