3 years ago I started a pig breeding farm in Batangas, Philippines. I have used all my own funds and raised more funds in order to build a farm that is friendly and comfortable for the pigs, which is unusual in The Philippines. It takes about 1 year to start producing saleable piglets and at the end of that time the African Swine Fever took hold of the world and both demand and prices crashed. I was able to keep going and then 8 months ago a crisis hit the world, at the same time as an outbreak of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea hit Batangas. I lost nearly all my piglets after the disease was introduced by a feed supplier who did not keep their truck clean. I survived that by opening a retail shop and selling all my young sows as pork. I had to sell over 60% of my breeding herd to keep going, but I am still here. I have been able to keep going by selling fatteners for the last 6 months but my pigs are not getting a chance to grow to a saleable size now. Demand is high but I can't provide the product. If I can survive until January 2021 I will be back on my feet. All my pigs are fully medicated and well cared for. Feed is costing about USD7000 per month and I also need to pay labour and electricity costs. I am trying to raise AUD40000 to get me through until 2021. Please try and help me. I do not want to slaughter small pigs that have had no life, but that will be my only option if I can't raise any funds. Because I do not have a finacial history, I cannot borrow so this would seem to be my final option.
