Eddie Gonzalez Medical Fund

Our friends, Eileen and Eddie Gonzalez, met in high school and started dating. Three years later they were marrried and started a family. Three more children followed. Ed became a successful Wall Sreet broker on the  NY Stock Exchange. Right after 9/11 Ed was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and  in 2009, due to his physical sisabiliy, he had to retire. Over the years he became homebound, unable to function without assistance. He became weak and lost weight.  If the MS continues to strike his body, it will mean Ed will be wheelchair bound and need a 24 hour caregiver. 
But there is a glimmer of hope. 
We need to rule out Lyme Disease.   A Lyme specialist  knows the proper testing and can rule out any lyme parasite. MS and Lyme Disease have similar symptoms. No MS drug was ever effective on Ed  and he continues to deterioriate. If he getS the proper testing and treatment, he stands a chance of potentially halting this dreadful disease. It has been proven that many of these auto-immune diseases were due to parasited carried by Ticks. Unfortunately, insurance will not cover this testing and the fees , into the thousands, with longterm treatment and continued followup. The goal is to get ED to a Lyme specialist as soon as possible, to allow him to remain in his home and get him to function at a higher level with the potential for a better outcome.
