Rachel's Mission to the DR

Friends and Family,
As many may know, I am currently studying Pre-Med at Arizona State University, something I am passionate about and eager to continue. I have also always had a love for service, community outreach and traveling -- meeting new people, learning new languages, and experiencing different cultures.
About two years ago I was introduced by a friend in ASB Leadership to an organization that shares these passions. Missions.Me organizes multiple mission trips a year, including a very large trip every two years called One Nation One Day. The goal of this trip is to gather volunteers from all around the US to change a foreign nation for the better through incredible service in one single day. This year that nation is the Dominican Republic. Part of this trip is the involvement of medical teams that will set up clinics across the Dominican to provide free medical care to those in need. (I encourage everyone to check the link missions.me to see how successful the previous trip to Hondorus in 2013 was. I was instantly inspired.)
My goal is to join the medical team in the Dominican for one week in July, to meet new people, to learn a new language, to experience the different culture, and to use my passions to help change the world. On the medical team, I would help operate the medical clinics, assist medical professionals, as well as take part in missionary work on the day.
To reach this goal, I need your help. The cost of the trip is $2,075. I would like to cover this cost myself, but being a full time student makes that difficult.
So, I ask you, my family and friends, to please help me participate in this experience, in any way you can. Donate here through my account to cover the cost of travel, food, and lodging, spread the word, or share the link to my page. Or, say, donate the cost of a latte, and share my page with 3 of your friends. Any amount of support is so incredibly appreciated. (Please know that if I do not raise enough money to go on the trip this year, I will save all donations for a future trip with the same purpose.)
