Kyndall's Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Kyndall Ramsey is a native Wacoan, where she lived most of her life until moving to Denton, TX in 2008. It was in Denton where she adopted her massive extended family, vegetarian lifestyle and cycling culture. Cycling for Kyndall was more then a way to get around, it became her philosophy on sustainable urban living and it was cycling that she wanted to pursue throughout her life, among her ambitions of traveling and one day owning her own hostel. Kyndall simply did not want a car to maintain, stink up her environment and sit around somewhere while she was traveling.

In September 2014, Kyndall decided to move back to Waco with a clear objective: to save her money and after a while make her first step to world traveling. Kyndall joined the developing downtown Waco scene, where she works at the newly renovated Hippodrome, immediately taking on the role of training coordinator and also as a barista at Dichotomy. Kyndall brought with her to Waco, the cycling culture that cities like Denton and Austin are more familiar seeing.

Living near downtown, Kyndall only commuted a couple of miles to work, she carefully mapped out her best routes to avoid heavy traffic on roads like Waco Dr. On Dec 29th, at approximately 5:00 pm, Kyndall was just blocks away from her work when she was hit by a large SUV turning left from oncoming traffic. Kyndall suffers from a broken femur, bruised lungs and serious head trauma.

Kyndall is now in a physical rehabilitation center in Waco TX and is making improvements everyday.  We are praying that we can exceed our goal of $15,000 to cover the many expenses Kyndall will face during her recovery. Her recovery will require care that her family will not be able to provide financially. This fund will also replace her lost wages until she is physically able to return to work. Please show your love and support for a worthy young lady.

In the meantime we are also trying to raise cycling awareness. Tensions are already so high among cyclists and drivers that we need to reestablish the respect between the two. Check out www.wewave.org and spread the good word!
