Kylies Fight against Breast Cancer
Dear Family, Friends and Supporters,
As many of you know, on the 31st of May 2017 my beautiful baby sister Kylie King 32 years young, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
With a moment’s notice Kylie immediately left her home in Darwin N.T. with her young family and our dear mother Heather and travelled to Victoria where Kylie sought expert advice which included 5 weeks of intense testing at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
The tests confirmed the unimaginable. Our beautiful Kylie has breast cancer and one massive fight on her hands! It was decided, on the 25th July 2017 our super brave Kylie was to undergo a Double Mastectomy and had both Lymph nodes removed.
The operation took 6 ½ hours. Kylie remained in recovery for a further 6 hours before we could see her. The operation went well and the doctors are happy with Kylie’s progress of to date. Kylie remains positive, optimistic and strong for her two young children Kahlia 4 and Amellia 2.
Due to the aggressive nature of the cancer Kylie commenced her chemotherapy last week, and requires a range of follow-up treatments in the next 12 – 18 months depending on her progress and if the cancer has spread. The reconstruction process of Kylie’s chest commenced as part of the surgery and is currently included as part of her ongoing treatments.
Those who may have experienced this journey know the emotional and financial burden of a loved one being diagnosed and fighting cancer. This journey for the patient is extremely challenging and gut-wrenching; it also has a massive effect and takes its toll on all the family too. 
Hence why I wanted to start a Go Fund me page to lighten the financial burden, in hope that we can reduce some of the pressure off Kylie during her recovery, who as you know is a single mother with two beautiful young children and our dear mother who has had to take time off work without pay in support while Kylie fights this battle and kicks her aggressive cancer in the butt!!
I know for Kylie and Mum they have already outlaid thousands of dollars just to get through the first 3 months of living in Melbourne whist undergoing tests, and surgeries. The medical bills, accommodation, and living expenses are already coming in and will continue to add up.
Consequently, I am reaching out to our amazing and supportive network of family and friends to help in anyway. Every donation is greatly appreciated and will be of great assistance in taking the pressure of both Kylie and Mum whilst Kylie fights this battle.
From the bottom of my heart, I can’t thank everyone enough for their help, well wishes, phone calls, visits, flowers, chocolates, gifts and especially your time, donations and most of all your love and strength; you have infilled us all with, over the last 10 weeks.
