Dear friends and family this is Jessie and Karlie, best friends to Kyle and Vanessa. We hope this finds you well.
As many of you have heard, our friends Kyle and Vanessa Chupp and their 3 kids; Amelia (13), Jamie (4), and Kailyn (2) are navigating an unexpected turn in life's journey. Before we begin, we want you to know that this money is intended to off set the medical costs for Vanessa and Kyle, such as lost income, travel and family life. Vanessa and Kyle are excellent with money so rest assured, they’ll put this to good use. They’ll be managing the funds themselves.  Beginning back in August, Kyle has been dealing with increasing pain in his hip, leg, and back. After consulting various medical professionals and receiving treatments from chiropractors, osteopaths, &amp; physiotherapists it continued to worsen and became a significant problem day and night.
 On December 12th, he ended up in the Orillia Hospital ER due to extreme swelling in his left leg. Doctors were concerned about a possible blood clot but thankfully the ultrasound didn’t show any. What it did show, however, took everyone by surprise.  The ultrasound showed a 7x5 inch growth in Kyle’s lower left abdomen and several smaller growths elsewhere. He was told the mass was almost certainly one of two different types of Cancer and was admitted to hospital to await a biopsy.
 They were able to do a biopsy on December 14th, and told him that the next step would be to wait for an appointment with Oncologists at RVH in Barrie once the results from the biopsy came back where they would discuss the plan of treatment.
 On December 20th they met at RVH Cancer Center, anxious to hear the plan and start whatever they recommended. However, the doctor told them that after reviewing the biopsy it looks like some type of Sarcoma, rather than Lymphoma as they were initially predicting. They were told that Sarcomas are rare cancers that develop in the bone and soft tissue and there are many different types. They were also told it had metastasized to his lungs and spleen, indicating stage IV cancer.
 Due to the form of cancer, he has been referred down to Toronto to meet with a team of Oncologists at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital. He is hoping to meet with someone as soon as possible but has been told it likely wouldn’t be before January 10th or so. Doctors in Toronto have confirmed that they have received the biopsy sample and are working on further testing to narrow down the specific type of Sarcoma.
 While they wait, Kyle is on a good combination of medications to help manage the pain he is experiencing from the mass surrounding nerves and blood vessels, and pushing against nearby organs and muscles.
 They have already been experiencing an incredible outpouring of love and encouragement from so many friends and family. They have been receiving a steady inpouring of questions from people who are asking what they can do to help, so this is why we decided to start this Go Fund Me now at this stage.  The truth is, they don’t have all the answers yet. The journey is just beginning, and the financial needs might evolve and intensify as things progress.
 They believe that Jesus really intends for us not to worry despite not having all the answers yet. And even when they do find out more results from the specialists in Toronto, the results will not decide any outcomes- God does that.  We (Jessie Whittaker and Karlie Bennett) will be updating this page as more answers are made known and are available to reach out to with any questions you may have.  We wanted to provide a place here to update everyone on what is happening, and give people an easy way to show love for those of you who have asked.
