My name is Kyle Kranich, I am 23 years old, and I am living with an aggressive form of Multiple Sclerosis.
At the beginning of May 2011, with no warning, I began to notice a heaviness in my left leg, but I didn't think anything of it at first. In three weeks, that heaviness progressed to the inability to walk 10 feet without being extremely fatigued and my vision getting blurry. Days after my 21st birthday, I got an MRI of my brain. A neurologist then told me that there were lesions all over my brain that were indicative of the damage of MS. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and quickly began a chemotherapy-type treatment.
Doctors told me that there were no treatments that would cure me or repair any damage that had been done, and that I was going to continue to get worse for the rest of my life, even doing the prescribed treatments. This news was devastating and hard to accept. The typical treatments for MS cost $40,000-$50,000 a year. The treatments that I tried were ineffective, and the side effects were worse than the disease itself.
In the two years since being diagnosed, I have needed to walk with a cane almost constantly, walking just 50 feet is difficult, I experience debilitating fatigue that makes my arms and legs weak and makes it nearly impossible to get anything done, the left side of my body is numb and tingling 24/7, my vision gets blurry randomly throughout the day and I am nearly blind in my left eye, I have tremors in my arms and legs, I have no sense of balance whatsoever, I experience chronic pain all over my body, I see flashes of light in the corners of both of my eyes all throughout the day, I experience cognitive issues that make it hard to concentrate as well as a myriad of other symptoms. Exposure to heat makes all of these symptoms much worse, also. Dealing with 20+ chronic symptoms on a daily basis is beyond frustrating, especially while trying to get through school.
Recently, I found the answer for which I have been searching. I came across the amazing possibilities in stem cell therapy. I am confident that with mesenchymal stem cell therapy, I can regain many of my abilities and continue on with my life. I plan to get this procedure done at the Stem Cell Institute in Panama City, Panama. The funds that I raise will be used to pay for medical treatments. I am only 23, so I still have a lot of life left to live. This treatment is not a cure for MS, but seems to be the most effective treatment that is available. Please help me get my life back.
