The Young Americans College Fund!

Some people search their whole lives trying to find what they love doing, some people never find it and some people just don't know what to look for. I was given the opportunity to join an amazing nonprofit group called The Young Americans, which as a kid changed my life more than anyone will ever know. It give me a few day each year to forget everything that was going on at home and showed me how to have fun, how to be confident, how to try new things, and mostly introduced me to my love for music. I would wait three years for The Young Americans to come back to my school and that's what got me by. I remember saying to my mom 'two years till The YA's come' or 'only one more year mom! After my second workshop I knew I wanted to be a Young American, I knew that's what I needed to do with my life. And usually what you want to do in 6th grade isn't actually what you end up doing when you finally graduate high school, so I knew this was special, I knew this was it. I knew I wanted to be the reason why a kid would wake up every morning and find happiness in what they do, or have something to look forward to, or be there to say something that they've always needed to hear. After receiving my acceptance letter in the mail, I decided to defer for a year to save up money, thinking to myself I should only have to work a year to pay for everything I need which, ha, was definitely not true. See my family has always had financial problems which left me out of a lot of things during school and I thought that, that's just how it is and I had to deal with it. But letting money be the reason why I can't do the only thing in the world I want to do, no way! I found a way to make it through my first year with out any problems, but now I'm on my second year and I'm stuck, again, in a financial rut. I'm asking for help to continue to do what I love. I feel so blessed to have found it but now I need help. Whether it is words of wisdom, sharing this or something financial, anything helps and is more than greatly appreciated! Thank you to all that I have met these past few years you have all made an impact on my life! I wish you the best in doing what you love or continuing on the journey on finding it!

Wishing you love,
