Kyle Stroke Rehabilitation Expenses

On September 17, 2017 my 22 year old brother, Kyle, got into a motorcycle accident. In his accident he managed to fracture several ribs, several vertebrae in his back, both shoulders, and his wrist. He also collapsed his lung and lacerated his spleen. This was the initial diagnosis before it was too late as a tear was found in his carotid artery which led to a blood clot and then a stroke. Following the stroke and his time in and out of a coma, my brother suffered serious damage to the left hemisphere of his brain leading to him losing all interaction between his brain and the entire right half of his body. In addition he has Broca's aphasia with apraxia which is the result of damage to the frontal region of the left hemisphere of the brain. With this, he is unable to formulate speech nor understand words and letters. At this point the rear-view mirrors have been removed as we are thankful that he is still with us today, and our efforts have turned toward doing everything in our power to give him the best possible chance to return to normal functioning. Funds are needed in order to cover the many costs associated with his numerous doctor's appointments as well as his transportation and rehabilitation. The goal was an estimation of the costs for just 18 months of his journey approximated at about $250 per week. This goal is temporary and does not include any costs of time off of work, his inability to work, or any of the more long term costs associated with this level of brain trauma. There is no exact timeline in order for the funds to be of use. Thank you for anything that you are willing to do to help my family and, more specifically, my brother in order for us to get him the care that he needs to have a full recovery.
