We, the family and friends of Kyle Plamondon, are raising funds for his loving family. At a young age, Kyle was diagnosed with a genetic heart condition that has also affected many members of his family. On October 29, Kyle was given the exciting news that he was receiving the heart transplant for which he had been waiting so long. Only 16 short months ago, Kyle's Dad received a life-changing transplant and we were all so hopeful Kyle would receive the same positive outcome.
Due to complications following Kyle's transplant, our brave warrior passed away on November 12 at the University of Alberta Hospital’s Mazankowski Heart Institute in Edmonton at the young age of 39 years.
Kyle was passionate about the military. He served for 10 years in the Armed Forces before turning that passion into helping others as a pharmacist.
Kyle was a big kid with a gentle soul who touched the lives of everyone he met.
He will be fondly remembered for his strong faith, his calm demeanor and love of everything LEGO and Star Wars, but most importantly, for his commitment to his family. Kyle leaves behind his beautiful wife, Michelle (his Princess), and his Bears, Beckham (age 6) and Kingston (age 4). He was an amazing son to Lyell & Mary Lou and siblings Shallon, Keane, and Jalene.
Due to his illness, Kyle was unable to work for many years. The funds raised by this effort will be used to start a fund for his children as well as to help pay expenses incurred as Kyle was receiving treatment out of province prior to his transplant.
In Kyle’s memory, we encourage you to talk to your family about organ donation and to sign up to be an organ donor.
