KYLA NEEDS HER MOM

Allow me to introduce you to Kelly White, my faithful weekly prayer partner. Kelly is a single mom to 16-year old Kyla (and 2 fur babies). She works 60+ hours/week on commission in commercial real estate. 

Last summer, after experiencing some chest pain, Kelly (a non smoker) received a shocking diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer, with metastasis to her brain. She has undergone rigorous treatments but was told on Christmas Eve that her prognosis is 6 months to one year. 

As she struggles with increased pain and difficulty focusing, Kelly now finds herself in a situation of “working to live.” She spends most of her time at her desk, trying to stay afloat financially. She’s missing dinners and weekends with Kyla and even skipping her daughter’s softball games and tournaments.  

Our prayer group’s collective heart is breaking as we watch our friend spend this precious time spinning her wheels in her basement office.  We find ourselves asking the hard questions about the immediate and long-term future for both Kelly and Kyla (and their fur babies).

We prayerfully decided to start a GoFundMe for Kelly in an attempt to allow her to focus on her daughter, her future, and her health. Our goal is to cover Kelly’s salary for at least 6 months. Kelly doesn’t have a will or a plan for Kyla. Instead of working she needs to spend her limited time and energy on the things that matter.
