This is Karen. She's been enduring treatments, surgeries, a partially removed lung, a rebuilt chest wall and ongoing chest tubes for over a year.

of kindness and true miracles. From cards to blankets to teddy bears and ruby red slippers. Flowers, visits and a therapy dog. Simple acts from the goodness of friends, some she does not even know, have sustained her. How? Inspiring acts of love and kindness. Tears flow freely at how the Universe has opened and poured healing support over her.
Now I ask complete strangers to help deliver her back to the vibrant life she loves. Be a part of this miracle.
Know that with your help, she will receive advanced physical rehab with psychology to help overcome the fear she now has. Know that we will use the fund to get her myofascial and soft tissue work to increase her mobility from over 100 staples used to rebuild her chest. Know that we will use the fund to fly her to Portland, OR, where she can receive alternative care to enhance the life saving surgeries at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. We owe so much to the staff on 8west!
Know that the fund will be used to enhance her living surroundings to make it easier for her move about her world with more ease. Know that the fund will be used to bring my Dad, Karens husband with her. They've been married 53 years and won't go anywhere without each other.
Lastly, know that any funds we do not need will be donated to a charity for Therapy Dogs. They do some magic.
