Help Patty Goyette Rebuild After a Life-Changing Injury 
 
Hi, I’m Brenda Scepanski, and I’m organizing this fundraiser for my best friend of 46 years — Patty Goyette — a kind, resilient woman now facing incredible pain, financial hardship, and a system that has failed her. 
 
Two Workplace Falls — A Lifetime of Pain 
 
In 2023, Patty suffered two serious falls at work — one on ice, and another on a wet floor. These accidents worsened preexisting spinal issues and caused disc herniations in the middle of her back causing permanent damage. 
 
Despite constant pain, Patty kept working light duty until her spinal fusion surgery 8 months later. She now lives with: 

• Severe nerve pain and spinal damage 

• Chronic pain and muscle atrophy 

• A strict 10-pound lifting limit 
 
She also had a previous injury about four years ago rupturing her right Achilles off the bone, leading to Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CPRS) a rare, extremely painful nerve condition in her leg. 
 
Patty now lives with relentless , daily pain that reduced her daily activities and is unable to work. 
 
⚖️ A Broken System 
 
After fighting for over two years, Patty was briefly approved for workers’ comp, only to have payments suddenly cut off — without explanation. 
 
She has since: 

• Lost housing multiple times 

• Exhausted savings 

• Gone without consistent medical care 

• Struggled to afford basic needs — even while living on her own
