Maia Hope

In 2007, the Thomas family – already 7 children strong - adopted the most precious little girl from China.  Maia Hope was born with microtia, missing her left ear, and hemifacialmicrosomia, a condition where the lower left side of her jaw grows slower than the lower right side of her jaw.  Today, Maia is an active 9 year old enjoying soccer, gymnastics, crafts, school and friends!

Maia is scheduled for surgery (April 2, 2015) to build an outer ear and implant a bone anchored hearing aid (BAHA).  The surgery will take place at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles,CA.  Although the Thomas’ have health insurance, the surgeon is not in their health insurance network and is located on the opposite coast of the U.S.  The estimate given by the doctor to cover what insurance will not – requires them to raise $50K to supplement their health insurance for the procedure, travel and follow-up.  Maia’s dad, Bill, is a pastor, and her mom, Linda, is a homemaker – and they, along with Maia’s brothers and sisters, are praying that God will put Maia on people’s hearts to be a part of the adventure of her receiving a new ear and being able to hear.  Please pray about it – and give!  Thank you so much!
