Saturday July 1, 2017 was expected to be just another day, like the many weekends before then in the last four years when our friend, mate and brother Joseph Kwame Asante took to the road from Accra (where he worked as a civil engineer) to be with his lovely wife, Grace, and their four young kids (Christabel 13, Albert 10, Clara 8 and Andrew 5) in Kumasi, Ghana. As he always did before setting off, Kwame called Grace and he said to her......'I'm leaving dear, and will be with you soon'. Kwame left as he said,..... only this time, he didn't make it home. Grace didn't see his kind, loving and gentle husband that day, and three days on..... she said:
''I'm still waiting for my husband to come home so I can open the door for him''
Kwame lost his young life tragically when his car collided with a parked truck in the middle of his journey. Kwame Asante is no longer with us but his humility, his kindness and his gentle spirit will remain imprinted on our memory. Most importantly, he left us with four beautiful children. We have lost Kwame Asante too soon, but he left us with four young Asantes.
As mates and friends of Kwame, we would want to step in and support his family, especially those very young kids who still have their full lives to live. We want to support them with our thoughts and prayers, and we will want to support them with our finances so that the kids will have access to quality education and a chance to grow up into responsible adults and citizens of this planet.
Please, join me to raise money to support the family of our brother, friend and mate. Join me, please, to support the education of his children. I cannot stress enough how much impact your support will make on Kwame's family, and I can assure you that any amount you give will go a long way towards bringing some relief to the family.
