Eli's Road to Recovery

Elijah suffered a massive brain bleed from a ruptured aneurysm at 14 months old leaving him partially paralyzed on the right side and causing some developmental delay. He was also born with an AVM or arteriovenous malformation that caused this aneurysm and has the possibility to rupture. It is in his right basal ganglia or deep brain, so another bleed could be very detrimental. This is surgically inoperable, but can be treated with radiosurgery to shrink the vessels over time and decrease bleeding risk. We are looking into treatment at Massachusetts General Hospital for proton therapy which has less harmful side effects than gamma knife. Elijah has done very well at a special therapy clinic that treats neurologic patients with an intensive specialized approach to therapy. He has been to a few other places, but has made progress here. This is our therapy home. Unfortunately it is very costly. This has been so good for our boy. We would love him to be able to continue there. We Prside the Lord for healing Eli andetting us keep him!
