Erica's Road to Recovery

As most have already heard,
Erica, the baby of Paul and Jackie’s 8, is in ICU in Indiana. She had a bleed on her brain. Since being admitted she has been diagnosed with what’s called an AVM (Arteriovenous Malformation) of the brain. It’s a mass of vessels that are malformed and has likely been there since birth. One of these vessels
ruptured resulting in a stroke.
Paul and Jackie received the news on Tuesday and were able to fly out first thing Wednesday morning. As surgery is not an option, right now they are monitoring it day by day and hoping it doesn’t get any worse.
Unfortunately, recently Erica took a new job that has left her without any medical coverage. Medical bills are adding up quickly as Erica is not stable enough to transfer back to Canada at this time. The family are optimistic that Erica will get through this but not without cost, and a lengthy recovery period that will likely include extensive rehab and radiation treatment.
