Let's help children in Venezuela!

Hi all! My name is Maretva and I am a Venezuelan mum running in The Midlands, training for the Warwick Half Marathon next year in March and raising funds to help the children in Venezuela.
Venezuela is going through a deep political and economic crisis. Inflation for 2017 is around 248.6 %. We have the highest inflation rate in the world and the forecast is that it could reach 800% at the end of the year. This, together with a serious shortage of food and medicines, is having a devastating effect on Venezuelans.
93% of Venezuelans do not have enough money to buy the amount of food that they need. Venezuela is suffering from a roughly 85% shortage of basic medicines: vaccines, antibiotics, antivirals. 63% of hospitals do not have drinking water. 51% of hospitals do not have beds for operations. As you can imagine this situation is affecting specially to the most vulnerable: CHILDREN.
As Venezuelan and as a mum, I feel I have to do something to help, even in the distance. That is why I created this fundraising page, to raise funds while I train for a half marathon, a distance I have not run in 10 years.
The funds raised will be split in 3 parts. One part will go to a charity that helps feed children living in the street in Venezuela, Cáritas Venezuela.

I will also support the efforts of Sonrisas Venezuela (Instagram account @sonrisasvenezuela) that helps inpatient children in public hospitals by providing them with clothes, formula and medicines. Finally, another part of the funds will go to Acorns, a local charity in the Midlands that provides care, support, fun and laughter for children with life limiting or life threatening conditions and their families.
