Help Ian

This is another David and Goliath story. Ian Elliot has devoted his last 20 years to helping the disabled community and has been a volunteer member and officer in several non-profit organizations. Ian is now fighting against two law firms which represent a financial manager who defrauded both his disabled mother and him. We pray for your help so that Ian will be able to hire and pay for a good lawyer to end his legal battles for justice.

Ian recovered from a serious traumatic brain injury in a 1994 car accident. He was determined to regain a normal life against all odds. He obtained a Master’s Degree and certification in Rehabilitation Counseling and graduated with honors despite being told by his therapist that he no longer had executive function. He has been actively using his recovery to encourage other people with disabilities to regain their confidence and he was selected to represent persons in Montana with disabilities as a participant in the torch run for the 2002 Winter Olympics.  The photo above is the local newspaper announcement that Ian volunteered his time to establish a new support group to help people suffering from seizures and to help their family members cope with the situation.

After Ian’s father died, Ian had a serious conflict with his mother’s financial manager who then claimed that the family business was not able to distribute funds for his mother’s care. (Ian’s mother had Alzheimer’s disease for over 2 decades and was blind with Alzheimer’s progression since 2003. The family business was 100% funded by his mother’s properties, and the operation leases out one piece of farmland (230 acres) and the 2 houses which sit on it.)

Ian then took his mother to live with him and became his mother’s 24/7 caregiver. When Ian refused to sell the rest of his mother’s beloved ranch without being informed where the other 3/4 of the property sale proceeds went while under this manager’s management, the manager hired a law firm “representing the company” and sued Ian for obstructing company business operation. The manager also used his mother’s property income to hire another law firm to represent herself.

Ian then filed a complaint to the Court against the manager for fraud. The lawsuits have lasted more than 4 years because the manager and the law firms kept playing the procedure techniques.  For now, Ian must represent himself at all the court procedures because he can not afford an attorney. Please help Ian with your contribution so that he will be able to have a capable attorney’s assistance.

We sincerely thank you for your contribution, and please know that if there are any funds remaining after the lawsuits conclude, they will be donated to the Billings Brain Injury Support Group, which is a non-profit support group for persons with brain injury and their family members, people that Ian has been actively helping.
