Megan's Medical Fund/Heart Surgery

Hello, my name is Megan Harris, I live in Petersburg WV. I am the proud mother of three amazing kids and just recently got engaged to a wonderful man! In Feb of 2013, my life drastically changed. After having a cardiac MRI, my cardiologist discovered that I had a mass on my heart. April 17th, 2013, I underwent open heart surgery to have a biopsy of the mass done. The biopsy came back that I have a benign tumor on the left vetricle of my heart and is called a fibroma. The tumor is very involved in the heart muscle on the left ventricle free wall of my heart, it is going to be very difficult to remove. After lot's of research, my cardiac team and I have found a world famous cardiac tumor surgeon in Houston TX, and I have an appointment to meet with this amazing doctor on January 29th! At that appointment, I will find out if I am going to be a candidate for an autotransplant to remove the tumor from my heart. Surgery has been set for February 2nd. We had hoped that this tumor was just something I was going to be able to live with, but in less than two years, the tumor has grown and has started to cause early signs of heart failure and has drastically changed my quality of life. Prayers are the most important thing that I need, but at the same time, this trip to Texas and the time i will be off work is really going to impact my family. I am scared but I also see this as a blessing, I am closer than ever to our lord and savior and the faith I have is stronger than ever, he is going to heal me, I just know it!
