Hi my name is Fatoumata Kaba. I am a fourteen-year-old from the Bronx. I've been wanting to start a business for about two years now, but it never happened. Why? Well, 1 I was reluctant, and 2 I was scared about what people may say about my age. On top of that being a young African American and Muslim girl makes things even scarier. Especially after witnessing the cruel things that have been happening in the world. In the midst of all this, I am still determined to start my own business. I guess you could say it's the entrepreneur in me telling me to keep pushing. Growing up, I was always bullied by my peers for wearing the hijab people said things like, "you have no hair under there" they even went as far as to ask "why do you always have a rag on your head" at the time those comments affected me negatively , but I'm proud to say those same comments are what motivated me to want to start my own hijab business today. A hijab is a head covering worn by Muslim women. My goal is to inspire young women like myself to embrace the hijab, for it is not something we should be embarrassed by, but instead, we should be delighted that we have the opportunity to be apart of something so great. I would appreciate it if everyone who comes across this can donate a dollar, and if not it would be a big help if you can share this until it reaches someone who can. Any kind gestures would be a big help. Thank You for taking the time off to read my story.
