Sweet Baby Xavier

Thank you for the interst in reading about this sweet baby. This is Xavier. He was born January 21, 2015 via emergent c-section at 5:48pm. He weighed 6lbs 12oz and was 21 inches long. Such a handsome little man isnt he?
Prior to discharge home to start his new life with his Mother, Father, and Big Brother Clinton, he became very ill needing emergent resuscitation twice. Nursing staff and doctors struggled to stabilize him and therefore he needed to be transfered to a tertiary hospital center nearly 1 1/2 hours away from home. Once there, multiple tests, scans, and procedures were done confirming a very rare metabolic disorder called MCADD. This is known as "Medium chain acyl-CoA dehydrogensae deficiency". This disorder proves very difficult for those that are diagnosed with this. These patients have difficulty breaking down fats for energy for the body.
Sadly, the hospital that he was diagnosed has little experience with this and he was then transferred again to Childrens Hospital in Philadelphia in critical condition. This is 5+ hours away from the comfort of their home, their friends, their family.
This fund was created to help with gas, car maintenance, hotel reservations, food, and any other travel expense, medical expense, or additional cost that may come their way over the next few weeks and sadly, even months.
Imagine the comfort of bringing your new baby home with the thoughts that your life is just about to start...suddenly it is ripped from you and your childs life is in danger. The emotional roller coaster ride has only just started for this sweet family. We hope that by raising funds, we can take away some of the burden they have not even started to face. We ask that if you are able, please consider to donate any amount possible. Our goal is 500.00 and we would love to blow that goal out of the water!
