Hurrican Harvey/Liz Peterson

My name is Liz Peterson.   I am from Katy, TX.  The hardest thing for me to do is to begin a story that is such a difficult one to share.  As many know and have probably heard by now Texas was served a major blow from Hurricane Harvey that had such a inpact that even I would have never ever thought I would end up being one of it's many unfortunate targets. 

As a working single mom daily struggles are common and perservering is what drives many mom's to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. Problem is now I'm not able to do either because of this storm that has taken these things away. I had no idea that in my area that flood insurance in an otherwise non flood area could make a difference between survival and desperation.

Depending upon others for shelter and food is a common story here now and I'm a part of it. I find myself in a place I had worked so hard never to be. I'm writing now as a surviver of this flood even asking for whatever funds that can be given to get me back on my feet.  I appreciate anything people can do and please know I hold no bad feelings for anyone not being able to. Prayers are also deply appreciated and are just as valuable to me.  I never thought I would be in this position to get on this site and ask humbly for your support.  I am raising funds to help with the cleanup and restoration of my home.  My home was flooded and I will need to restore the downstairs.  The funds will be used to replace sheetrock and flooring.  It will also be used for new appliances, repairs to vehicles, replace food, toiletries, painting, and insulation, etc.
