Hi everyone!
I am doing this with hopes of moving people's hearts to support an upcoming surgery that I need for my right arm (January 30th, 2018). All my life I have strived to be the best I can be and follow my dreams, against all odds. I have always accomplished the goals I set for myself, whether it is personal, academic, or professional goals… it is my nature to work hard until I succeed.
I am proud to say that I am a pediatric psychologist, after having gone to school for 12 years! Nothing made my family and me prouder than walking on my graduation in June 10, 2017. I was looking forward to this day and I saved money to be able to travel to Puerto Rico to see my family and walk on my graduation at last. I dreamt about this day for years! It finally came and I was honored to receive various special awards for outstanding academic achievement. It was a very special day indeed, but the feeling did not last long. Three days after walking on my graduation I had a very unfortunate accident in which my right arm (my dominant arm) got stuck in a mechanical gate and it broke both on my bones in my forearm. As a consequence of this crushing injury, I was diagnosed with severe nerve damage and my hand is no longer functional. I recently found out that the initial procedure was apparently not done correctly and I will need one to two more surgeries to attempt to regain some functionality.
During the past 5 months, I have had numerous medical visits, second, third, and even fourth opinions, as well as occupational and physical therapy to try to rehabilitate my hand. This, in turn, has caused me to have many medical bills and expenses that are beyond what I can afford at this time. Over the next year, these medical bills will continue to grow as I prepare myself for surgery to restructure my bones in my forearm and wrist, and to try different procedures to try to salvage my nerves. So many things in my life and career have been placed on hold due to this. The impact of this accident has also worn me out emotionally and I would like to reach out to anyone out there who feels in his/her heart that they can help me with any type of donation. Me and my family will appreciate it and be forever grateful. Your prayers and good vibes will also be of blessing to my life!

Estoy haciendo esta petición con la esperanza de commover los corazones de todas aquellas personas que puedan apoyar mi causa, ya que necesito
una cirugía para mi brazo derecho el 30 de enero de 2018. Toda mi vida he luchado para ser lo mejor que pueda ser y seguir mis sueños, contra viento y marea. Siempre he logrado los objetivos que me he propuesto, ya sean objetivos personales, académicos o profesionales ... es mi naturaleza trabajar fuerte hasta tener éxito.
Me enorgullece decir que soy una psicóloga pediátrica, después de haber asistido a la escuela durante 12 años! Nada me hacía sentir más orgullosa a mí y a mi familia que el deseo de desfilar en mi graduación el 10 de junio de 2017. Estaba esperando con ansias este día y ahorré dinero para poder viajar a Puerto Rico para ver a mi familia y celebrar mi graduación. ¡Soñé con este día por años! Finalmente llegó y tuve el honor de recibir varios premios especiales por logros académicos sobresalientes. Realmente fue un día muy especial, pero la sensación no duró mucho. Tres días después de desfilar en mi graduación, tuve un desafortunado accidente en el que mi brazo derecho (mi brazo dominante) se atascó en un portón el´ctrico que rompió ambos huesos en mi antebrazo. Como consecuencia, me diagnosticaron daño nervioso severo y mi mano ya no es funcional. Recientemente descubrí que aparentemente la cirugía inicial no se realizó correctamente y necesitaré entre una a dos cirugías más para tratar de recuperar alguna funcionalidad.
Durante los últimos 5 meses, he tenido numerosas visitas médicas para una segunda, tercera e incluso una cuarta opinión, así como terapia ocupacional y física para tratar de rehabilitar mi mano. Esto, a su vez, ha generado muchas facturas médicas y gastos que superan lo que puedo costear en este momento. Durante el próximo año, estas facturas médicas continuarán creciendo, mientras me preparo para las cirugías que pretenden reestructurar los huesos de mi antebrazo y muñeca, y probar diferentes procedimientos para tratar de salvar mis nervios. Tantas cosas en mi vida y en mi carrera se han suspendido o aplazado por todo esto. El impacto de este accidente también me ha agotado emocionalmente y me gustaría acercarme a cualquier persona que sienta la necesidad de ayudarme con cualquier tipo de donación. Mi familia y yo lo apreciaremos grandemente y siempre estaremos agradecidos. Sus oraciones y buenas vibras también serán muy bien recibidas y de gran bendición para mi vida!
