Matthew Myers Is a 16 year old High school student, Matthew is my son, he is a brother, uncle, cousin and grandson and an amazing friend. On January 17, 2015, Matthew and his Grandfather decided to take a trip to La Grange for his grandpas Birthday for a fun day filled with Dirtbiking and four wheeling. The day quickly came to a tragic hault, Matthew was riding his new Dirtbike fully geared up with the excitement of the dirt infront of him and suddenly lost control. Matthew knocked out his front teeth and ripped out the gum and shattered the bone in his mouth, Matthew tore his face open and the muscle beneath the skin, he fractured his wrist and injured his hip and knee. Due to the insurance we have the oral surgeon was not called to the ER that day, witch was frustrating because it was a three day Holiday weekend. Finally Tuesday morning he got in to a oral surgeon who stated bring him in immediately that time is of the essence, he asked for me to pick up the oral and cranial X-rays but none were taken, the oral surgeon took X-rays and found the bone shattered and was basically chipping way minute by minute,so he immediately scheduled surgery for the grafting, to ensure that Matthew will be able to receive Dental implants that his jaw will take to. Matthew is in a lot of pain and very sad, sad to even look in the mirror and it breaks my heart, I am trying to stay positive for my son even when I feel discouraged because of the cost of surgery and Dental Implants. Please help me help my son to get his beautiful, confident and charming smile back so he can be his self again soon. No donation is to small, we sincerely thank you in advance.
