Dear Family and Friends,
I would like to share with you a ministry opportunity God has presented to me and my college soccer team (Trevecca Nazarene University) this upcoming spring break. During March 7th - March 14th, my team and I will be heading to Jamaica with GSM International Soccer Tours with the purpose of Serving Christ through Global Soccer Ministries.
Our one week trip will provide my team with the chance to experience the game of soccer at the international level while being immersed into a culture unique in it’s history and the passion they have for the game. Besides playing international matches, mission and outreach opportunities with GSM efforts include: local youth soccer outreach clinics, a camp on the campus of the Universities of the West Indies youth academy, local humanitarian service projects at the Maxwell Park Girl’s Children’s Home and the Mustard Seed Community, as well as painting and cleaning at local primary or secondary schools. This trip will also help to improve our personal and team relationships with Jesus Christ and with each other.
My hope while on this trip is to impact the lives of those in the program and bring Jesus to a place through the game of soccer. I am excited about the opportunity that lies ahead. I can only hope you see the value in what we will accomplish while in Jamaica. As you can imagine, a trip like this requires financial support from a number of people. I need to raise close to $2,000 dollars by mid February. If you can support me in a financial way, I would be so very grateful. Although the financial aspect of this trip is important, I would love even more for you to join me in prayer support. Without prayer, this trip will never succeed. Since prayer is so important, I would love for you to keep me in mind while I travel to Jamaica this coming March. I am so thankful for any kind of support from you and your families! This means the world to my team and I as we work to get ourselves safely to Jamaica.
