Psalm 23
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This was one of my mom's favorite verses. My mother passed to be with the Lord this month. Mom was my best friend and the most important person in my life.
Mom suffered a long battle with her health. She was in and out of the hospitals and despite many obsticles she remained so strong. Her selfless, caring, and loving personality taught us to be just that...She had the most hope and belief in us as children and in Dad as a husband. We could only do right in her eyes. She would carry our burdens with us, her prayers and love strengthened us. She endured until the end.
Mom's life will never end. We will carry her in our hearts and thoughts for the rest of our lives. God's gift to us shaped us in so many ways. Our tears are because we miss her. I thank her for exemplifying what it means to love selflessly.
