Krystal's Fight for Defeating Cervical Cancer

Donation protected
My name is Diana Wimbish and I’m writing this on behalf of my 34-year-old daughter, Krystal Wimbish (the high spirited, sometimes goofy chick that wares hilarious costumes and works at Jethrow's Quick Shop, Illinois 162, Granite City, IL), and her family of two children.

On June 1st 2019 Krystal’s world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer. The cervical tumor was especially large and non-surgical and the cancer had already moved to her lower extremity lymph nodes when diagnosed.

Her gynecologic oncology cancer team at the Center for Advanced Medicine - Siteman Cancer Center in St Louis Missouri were very positive that the cancer could be beat with 12 weeks of direct radiation and chemo therapy and ultimately giving her a clean bill of health. Even giving an 85% success rate.  My daughter followed suite with all recommendations in the hopes to save her life.

On November 6th 2019 my daughter returned to Siteman for a follow up PET scan to see if the Cancer was gone. Unfortunately, it was not. The cancer is now Metastatic. It has moved to her liver, bones and lymph nodes throughout her body. The cancer team informed her that there is little to no chance of fighting the cancer and prolonged life is where her focus should be. Aggressive tri-fecta chemo and clinical trials.

Well if any of you know my daughter, she is strong and will fight this. Little to no chance of fighting  means there is still a chance. And her family including myself, her mother, will give everything we can to fight alongside her.  We have entered into a world no family should have to experience, and I’m asking for your help during this battle.

Starting November 13th, Krystal will be starting aggressive chemo therapy as suggested by Siteman. We are also looking into a second opinion at other renowned gynecologic cancer treatment centers throughout the greater US and the use of other success treatment options. Some of these options may involve traveling and/or a lot of time away from work for both Krystal and our family. Additionally, not all options and sizable expenses are covered by her medical coverage.

Every dollar raised will help alleviate Krystal’s and our financial burden, allowing her and us to focus as much energy as possible on beating this diagnosis.

If you are unable to donate, Krystal and our family would like you to know that your prayers are the most helpful gift and so very much appreciated.

Thank you for your support in this difficult time.  Here’s to this amazing woman, my daughter, our family, her friends, our friends, her doctors, and the miracle we are all hoping for.
