Help me hear again

Hello,

My name is Peter Gowen. I'm a single dad of two beautiful kids and a very hard working honest man. I'm also normally a very private person and don't share like this often.

I don't really like doing this but I don't know what else to do. About 4 months ago I woke up one morning and couldn't hear anything. I lost the hearing in my left ear when I was so young I have always just told people I was born deaf in my left ear. The real story is I lost it do to chicken pox. My Dr. Had a MRI done to rule out a brain tumor. That is good news. Unfortunately though he thinks I lost it to a virus and I'm now legally deaf. I went to the doctor today and got fitted for hearing aids. The sound is a little distorted but at least I could hear what she was saying. I still might have to have implants but hearing aids is the first step. The reason for the fundraising is to cover my insurance deductible and what the insurance will not cover for the purchase and tuning of the hearing aids. It has been very difficult dealing with this. I have noticed people seem to get irritated when I ask them to repeat things several times. Work is almost unbearable.
