Grace's Cancer Fund

Hi!  My name is Grace and I'm a cancer patient.  I thought I was a cancer survivor, but in November 2014, I was diagnosed with a recurrence of endomentrial adenocarcinoma, aka the return of uterine cancer.

 Last November, I ended up in the ER with pelvic pain, and the doctor ordered an abdominal CT as a precaution, where an egg sized tumor was found.  My health care team and I decided surgery, chemotherapy and radiation was the direction to go.  I had surgery in December, and I'm mostly fully recovered (despite getting a nasty infection). I have now started chemotherapy treatment, with 5 more rounds before radiation.

Because of all of this, I have been off work since mid-November. My employer initially had me covered at 100%, then 80%, but it has now dropped to 60% of my regular income, which is just not enough to keep afloat.  Add to that, my insurance only covered 80% through the end of 2014, but with the new year, it means the annual deductible must be met, higher rate copays, etc.

As difficult as it is to ask for help, I have to recognize that it's foolishness and pride to suffer in silence, especially when I need to keep my focus on recovering and getting healthy again.  I am asking for assistance to cover practical living expenses, such as rent, food, utilities, etc. as well as the ever mounting medical bills and medications.  Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for whatever you're able to provide, even if it's only moral support! :)
