KRITTER INC WILDLIFE REBUILD

Tax deductible
Hi, my name is Lisa Mabry, I'm the owner/director of Kritter, Inc Wildlife Sanctuary.  I have been rehabilitating wildlife since 2006.  Our facebook site is where we post our events, releases, newcomers, volunteer opportunities and more of our story.  At 10 am on July 10th,  2016 I received a phone call that literally devastated our wildlife world.   After 9 years of successfully  building and running the largest rehabilitation center in Bay and surrounding counties, I was informed that the property had been sold and the new owner would be making modifications that would require us to close down and move.   I had 85 animals in some form of rehabilitation at that moment!  Through the intial shock wave, I made arrangments to transfer our educational ambassadors, we started the grueling chore of packing, donating items to other rehab centers, and informing the public we were no longer accepting wildlife.     I quickly built a few makeshift cages off-site to house those animals that needed more than a month of rehab time, and released those we felt were ready to go. We kept the news media at bay, I didn't want to share my grief, to numb to answer all the barage of questions about future animals . . . 85 animals and 25 volunteers were all looking at me to be brave and carry on.    It's been a year of strugles, the animal in need calls still flood the phone lines, and the last few remaining volunteers try our best, working from our homes, to raise some wildlings and help an injured bird or two when we can.   TODAY we have some great news to share!  Kritter, Inc is making it's comeback.  Through the generousity from a local family, they have donated their (1)  acre private,  prestine, wooded property, totally fenced to Kritter, Inc;  IT'S TIME TO REBUILD.   We have designed the first building, a combination flight cage, rehab pens and triage/nursery will all be under one metal roof.    Initially there is a storage shed for access of refrigeration, power, water,  garbage, etc.,  but we would like to start construction immediately.   Our goal of $8000.00 will ensure we can complete the building, we hope to use volunteer labor and have a little money to restock medical supplies, crates and equipment,  nutritional diets for various bird species and get our rehabilitation center off on the right track.   I am extremely grateful for this renewed opportunity which will allow us to continue our work on migratory raptors, shorebirds, songbirds and and other species which has always been truly inspirational. The passion, dedication and dutiful patience is not something everyone is able to do, but with your financial support, your encouragment and occassional involvement when you bring us that injured animal, will allow you to live through us knowing you saved a life and made a difference too.   Please listen to your heart and send us your lump sum donation, or as a lifetime supporter, agree to donate a predetermined amount on a monthly basis so we can focus more on wildlife and less on the electric bills.  Our hugs and thanks to each of you willing and eager to help will be shared by the 1000's of photos and videos that will be posted throughout the year for your enjoyment.
