Kristi was diagnosed with blood cancer, Myelofibrosis (MF) which can progress to Leukaemia. She was admitted to the Mayo Hospital to begin five days of massive chemo, to be followed by a bone marrow transplant.
Her youngest sister, Sheryl is a perfect match for her bone marrow transplant. She will be getting shots to boost her production of stem cells before the transplant. In order to do the transplant, Sheryl has had to be in Phoenix for a month. She had pre-testing and treatment.
Kristi will be in the hospital for a month, after release she has to stay within 20 minutes of the hospital for three more months. In all she will be living in Phoenix, instead of Tucson, for four months. Once past that hurdle, she will be off work for eight more months.
Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated to help cover the medical costs for Kristi and Sheryl's cost for staying in Phoenix for the month in preparation for the stem cell harvesting. Please keep them in your prayers as they go through this journey.
