Kristoff surgery/care for glaucoma

Please help Kristoff get his eyesight back?

Five years ago I fostered several dogs and was able to get them back to good health from death's door and adopted to good homes. I was entering Petsmart to gather items necessary to foster another dog for a woman who was suffering from cancer and could no longer take care of her dog due to her dire circumstances. There was a rescue organization holding adoptions for 9 dogs who were on their last opportunity to be saved. He had already run out of time at a shelter in Rome, GA. Kristoff was found in North Georgia tied with an electrical cord to another puppy who had already passed away. He was full of kisses and nurturing energy. I walked up to Kristoff's cage and touched his sweet paw. I talked to him. He had given up, covered in hot spots and fleas and was trying to sleep amongst the madness. Nobody wanted him. He turned and looked at me. I got him out of the cage and we immediately bonded. It was a very dark time in both of our lives. Within an hour he was in my car headed to his new home with me for life. His name means "The Christ or Buddha nature within". The name just came to me and it turned out to be extremely appropriate. Every one who meets him, even veterinarians, express what a gentle soul he truly is. He always has kisses for everyone. He wouldn't hurt a fly. Last week his eyes were swollen shut. I thought he was bitten by a snake or stung by a dangerous insect. When I finally got him to the veterinarian Monday we ran a battery of tests. His eyes were blue instead of brown and the pressure showed a reading of 50. The normal range should be between 15-25. I immediately took him to an emergency animal opthalmogist early the next morning. When I picked him up yesterday afternoon they reported he had full-blown glaucoma and is blind. He is only 5 years old and this is highly unusual. It is not hereditary. At this point the bills for his care and medication has reached $500. Tomorrow he is undergoing three different blood panels, Toxo, Tick and CBC, to see if we can find out what caused this sudden onset of glaucoma. This will cost another $500. Depending on the results of these tests the opthalmologist will then know how to proceed to relieve the pressure, which is extremely painful, and whether we can save his eyesight with surgery or lasik or have his eyes removed. Right now he is on a regimine of four different eyedrops and two pills several times a day. The bill will be very expensive and my bank account is empty to the point where I could lose my home. I am begging all of you to please contribute what you can to help get us through this and get him the care he so desperately needs. I thank you all in advance for your compassion and generousity.
