A year after her her surgery she experienced growing pains and had numerous consultations, went to pain management and went through many physical therepy sessions. In search of the cause of the pain she went through SI X-rays, femur X-rays, lumbar cat scan.
In January 2017 Kristi requested an MRI of her hip. That showed that there was a labrel tear. She went to an orthopedic surgeon and he suggested to do physical therapy and he would revisit her if it did not improve. The pain did not subside and she returned to the doctor.
A week before Thanksgiving 2017 she was not able to put weight on her left side. The two years of taking Tylenol and ibuprofen did not decrease the pain then and it certainly did not help the pain now.
Kristi went to the emergency room and they did a hip X-ray and they expediated her appointment with an orthopedic surgeon. Because of the increase in pain, instead of surgery he opted to take another MRI to see if she needed a hip replacement. The next day the surgeon called her and said the the cancer had returned and was in the bone on both sides of her pelvis. That same day she saw an orthopedic oncologist to discuss the diagnosis and set up a biopsy, bone scan and cat scan. These tests showed that it is Stage 4 Endometrial cancer and found that the bone was fractured around her hip.
Kristi went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota for a second opinion and that doctor along her local doctor have agreed upon an action plan of numerous rounds of chemotherepy to begin her fight.
Kristi has worked as a radiologic technologist for 12 years. She has helped those in need for years and is now in need of your help. She has been out of work since prior to Thanksgiving and had just received her last paycheck from work by depleting her sick and vacation time. She is totally dependent on her husband and parents for rides to appointments, her upcoming chemo treatments and even to shop for groceries and basic necessities.
Right now she needs her bathroom remodeled to be handicap accessable and be able to bathe with minimal assistance. Our dad already built a ramp to the house so she can be pushed in her wheelchair from the car to the house.
Your donation will will also help with out of town trips to the Mayo Clinic, lodging and meals.
We want her to have as much independance as she can have being she can no longer drive or do things on her own.
